About:
Homegrown Crafts is a one woman home based studio built from the ground up. I craft, create, and re purpose using the skills I have collected over the years. Homegrown Crafts is dedicated to providing quality fiber, jewelry, and up-cycled goods that are functional, visually pleasing, and environmentally conscious. My designs range from elegant and simple to playful and intricate. In this day of mass-produced, cheap, commercial goods, it just feels right to offer people something better. I decided to open my business to provide refreshingly different and lively functional art. It’s important now more than ever to be conscious of our impact on this planet. Always being on the lookout for ways to reduce leads me to unique and vintage finds. Recycling these finds connects otherwise disposable goods with someone who can use and appreciate them.
FIBERS
I have always had a passion for sewing and working with fabric. I love to combine vibrant prints with rich textures to create a variety of fun and functional fabric goods. In addition to these items, I also design and sell my original cross stitch and hand embroidery stitches and patterns. This process really allows me to share some of the joy of what I do. It’s so exciting to stitch a design for the first time and watch it come to life with color and texture.
JEWELRY
I believe that jewelry can be more than just another accessory. I use materials and colors to create wearable art. Drawing inspiration from the natural world has helped me create vibrant, unique, and one of a kind pieces. Working on custom jewelry orders, or any special requests, gives me an opportunity to collaborate and meet individual needs.
REUSED AND RECYCLED
In an effort to reuse, I find potential in something and re purpose it to create functional and special treasures. It’s exciting to be able to use my talents to give old objects a new breath of life. By offering raw materials like fabric, jewelry supplies, and vintage finds not only am I able to reduce waste, I am able to have a hand in other artists creative pursuit.

The Homegrown Crafts Philosophy

Crafting and creating are my way of life. Working with my hands and using them to create something tangible is more than a hobby. My passion is using raw materials to make goods that can enhance ones life in some way. Function and art go hand-in-hand as far as I’m concerned. I’m inspired by colors, textures and materials and all of the unique and creative ways to combine them. I work with as many different mediums as possible and draw on any skill necessary to complete my ideas, I like to utilize techniques like painting, drilling, or modifying objects to achieve the desired result. My creativity as well as my attention to detail sets my goods apart from the rest. I am lucky to be able to share my love to create; Homegrown crafts is my avenue to get some of these inspired quality made goods into the hands of people who can love them and use them for years to come.
The items I make and sell have a function, whether it’s to serve a specific purpose in your home or travels, or if it’s just to visually enhance a space. I draw inspiration from many sources, be it traveling and nature, my passion for music, or the love of my family. Variety and freshness are inherent in the things I make, and I give myself room to try out new ideas in my creations. In my shop you will find machine-sewn goods like blankets, bags or pillows, as well as hand sewn cross stitch and embroidery. I offer jewelry that I have created created using a variety of styles and materials. Selling reused, recycled or vintage items allows me to involve people in my passion for reducing our environmental foot print.
Working on custom art for my clients is one of my favorite opportunities; drawing from a persons idea, I’m able to turn a creative vision into a reality. From making custom-designed wedding items or gift elements like jewelry, custom embroidery and fabric goods, to collaborating with other artists and designers, it’s exciting to work together to create something one of a kind.

Every good I produce is made with an environmentally conscious approach. Growing up on the ocean, I was taught early on, about pollution and recycling and this motivates my business practices. Homegrown Crafts works with suppliers who are eco conscious, I am also focused on running an energy efficient, low waste operation. Finding opportunities to re purpose old items and connecting vintage finds with buyers helps reduce waste and promote awareness. With the support of my loving husband (who is my successfully self employed role model) and my family I have built Homegrown Crafts from the ground up. I am now a full time mom and artist and I have never been happier. I look forward to where this road will lead. Thank you for taking the time to visit my site and let me know how I can meet your needs for some quality Homegrown Crafts.
