Not All Blankets and Burp Cloths Are the Same

It wasn’t until I became a mom myself that I realized what a void there is for even moderately hip baby gear. I felt stifled just walking in to the neatly split blue boy and pink girl sections. I had seen enough teddy bears, zoo animals, trucks and flowers to last me a lifetime. First of all I just wanted something that would be more enjoyable to look at. I mean when babies are little their blankets and burp cloths are on continuous rotation between use and a washing machine cycle. I was going to be spending a lot of time with these items. not just me so would my child so I really began to think about that. I realized that for me the look was important but for my child comfort was one of the main factors. I also wanted to see about different sizes as well because a one size fits all is not always the best way to purchase baby gear.

Its nice to have a small blanket that’s just the right size when swaddling an infant or a larger one for a toddler. Its also great to have a blanket that is not too hot, but thick enough that it is providing much needed warmth. Fabric choice is really important to me. I use all 100% cotton which is great for sensitive skin and does not have all the plastics found in poly blends. I combine a smooth cotton print side with a cozy flannel side to create the perfect reversible blanket. Not only are you getting two unique styles from one blanket you are getting two wonderfully different textures. These are all pre shrunk just in case so you don’t have to worry if one accidentally gets thrown into the wash with the hot water. All of my burp cloths feature a cozy flannel on one side and a 100% organic unbleached terry cloth on the other. These are perfect for the first days as a newborn but will come in handy till they move out as I have made them in a convenient towel size.
